Safety
Safety is our number one priority at R2R Intermodal and we believe that safety and quality of service go hand in hand. We want to ensure our drivers are safe when on the road and in the yard. We also want to ensure that our drivers have a reasonable workload so they are in perfect shape when handling your cargo and driving on public highways. In addition, R2R Intermodal takes responsibility in hiring drivers with the experience and customer service skills through an extensive hiring process.
R2R Intermodal requires all Drivers/Applicants to complete the following objectives:
- Complete a comprehensive application and interview
- Submit to a motor vehicle record and performance background
- Perform a road test facilitated by a driving professional
- Complete a general knowledge test
- Perform a pre-employment controlled substance screening
- Supply medical qualification documentation
Once the Driver/Applicant has met our hiring standards, the driver attends orientation to review the R2R Intermodal’s corporate regulations and receive training on the following topics:
- Federal Hours of Service regulations
- Maintenance and Equipment inspection
- Federal Drug and Alcohol testing regulations
- Attitude and Driver Performance training
- Customer Service
- Understanding the Safety and Procedures handbook
This process raises the awareness and indoctrinates the expectations of R2R Intermodal, giving our drivers the best opportunity to meet and exceed our clients’ needs and expectations as well as reduce the risk of accidents.
Data Privacy
The security of your personal and corporate data is treated with the upmost sensitivity by R2R Intermodal Inc. R2R Intermodal uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your data over the internet. Any information provided to you is scrambled and decoded once it reaches your browser.
Information provided by your via electronic means and forms on the R2R Intermodal web user interface is secure and encrypted in most instances. You may check that your web session is secure by looking for a small lock symbol typically located in the lower corner of your web browser window.
To support your business, R2R Intermodal does share selected information collected from you with our drivers, dispatchers, accountants, and vendors. All non-affiliated companies and individuals are contractually obligated to keep the information we provide to them confidential and to use the information only for the purpose of providing the services we have contracted them to perform.
We may also disclose selected information to regulatory agencies when required or permitted by the law. Furthermore, we have in place appropriate physical, electronic, and management procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online in order to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information.
Environment
Every aspect of our operation is designed to limit our carbon footprint by reducing fuel consumption and our impact on highway congestion. The core of our business is the use of technology. We put technology to use in ways that allow us to:
- Minimize bobtail miles
- Maximize truck utilization
- Limit terminal empty container handling
We also do our best to limit our carbon footprint in our office, by using technology whenever possible. We make a conscious effort to reduce the use of paper and to recycle as much waste as we can. You can help us reduce our carbon footprint by placing your orders through our database or by sending your order in PDF format from which we can pull the information electronically instead of having to print them out. These measures not only help us save the planet but also reduce human error.
Employee Conduct
The R2R Intermodal’s Business Code of Conduct reinforces our commitment to integrity in all aspects of our business. Regarding account privacy, the Business Code of Conduct includes very specific guidelines concerning the safeguarding of confidential information, including customer account information. These guidelines limit employee access to confidential information, limiting the use and disclosure of such information to specifically authorized employees, processes and transactions.
